I would have to agree with some here I think you're giving her a bit too much power/spell access was not enough training. Trixie is a show/stagepony not a mage, her magic would be related to her ability to entertain and perform. Not only that but the ability to create barriers and to teleport would come with learning or being taught such.

Again though by herself Trixie is shown relatively minor power all things considered, heck if Trixie honestly thought she was strong enough to take on Twilight by herself she wouldn't have needef to get alicorn amulet.

Except Trixie didn't want to be as strong as Twilight, she wanted to be stronger than Twilight.
